Final Post
2. Some of the customs I learned about the Japanese was they are burned when they die and that they also call their siblings Honorable. I think they do these customs to show even though they lived in Korea they still studied calligraphy and dancing to show they haven't forgotten their customs. Well I would still celebrate the day of the dead and Christmas.
3. I admire Hideo because he never gave up. He knew his family needed him and he never gave up. I also admire him because he was very smart to hide in the water while they were shooting him. The thing I admire the most is that he still honers the family that saved him.
4. I learned that the communist would even kill their own. Even if they were in the Korean communist society. I also found interesting that Russia didn't declare war until japan was weak.
I mean they were just waiting for the right moment to declare war.
5. I learned that at war every one can be your enemy even your own friend. I also learned that the world is very cruel, and the world is even crueler. Yet, while some of us fight for what we believe is right some try to save the world, I mean aren't we all humans? We all deserve a chance to live our lives without fear of dieing ever single day, we should be able to go outside with out fear of anything or anyone.

2.I don't think that they should have left him behind because what if he shows up?. I also agree with them because things were getting out of hand, with all the drunk men and everything else like having to dig the trash for food.
3. Why do you think Yoko has changed so much, do you notice any major diffrence?

OP#2
2. I would take a knife in case i need to cut something or open a can. I would also bring a dagger, for self protection and to cut through weeds or other obstacles. I would also bring some food, like fruit and vegetables. I would bring some photos in case my home is destroyed i wouldn't lose everything. A mirror so i could use this as a distraction to get away from danger or as a last resort a weapon. I would also bring family heirlooms so my family's history wouldn't be lost. Clothes and a blanket. Clothes so i wouldn't have to wear the same clothes everyday. Blankets so that at night i wouldn't be cold. Money in case i need to but food. An emergency kit containing alcohol, bandages etc. I would bring some string so i could make different things like a fishing pole or as a little rope.
3.The most shocking part was the part when hideo found his Korean neighbors dead. I thought this part was shocking because i though, sure i know why they hat Japanese, but to kill their own kind? That's just isn't right. Not that I'm saying killing is right either.

OP#1
2. The relationship between yoko and ko is a fairly well one. I mean they're not the best sisters in the whole world but they're not the worst either. Yoko and ko can bicker at times but they do love each other. Yoko calls ko bossy because she's ordering them around alot and ko thinks that thats mean. An example from the book might be: "you've go to" ko said bluntly. "don't talk, just walk!" She was getting very bossy.
3. The kawashima reacts differntly to the patients. Yoko is afraid of them. Ko like to help, for example Ko let another patient borrow her blanket. The mother is also very nice to the patients, she gives them food and orders yoko to give the other mother the blanket.

Final
2. At the begining of the book he was a shy lonley character unliked by anyone the "class freak." When the wave first started he was one of the few to get the pose right. He then after a while asked Mr.Ross if he could be his body guard which showed how seriously and important this club was to him. In the end he was really sad that the one thing he had treasured, that had made him an equal was gone.
3.
a. A example was that Mr.ross was a idol everyone did what he did without question of his power.
b. Kim Jong-il, he may seem like a god but pictures of his victims hardley come on the news. Yet the 63-year-old leader is responsible for the deaths of four million of his citizens. If one includes the dead in the Korean war (1950-1953) and those who have died in labour camps since 1945, Kim Jong-il and his father (dad) Kim Il-sung are responsible for nine million deaths. Measured against the size of the North Korean population, the dynasty has outdone better-known Asian tyrants such as Pol Pot or Mao Zedong.
4. “Avoiding Mob Mentality: A Practical Guide by A Middle Student, for Other Middle School Students.”
Some of ways you can avoid getting caught up in a mob is stay aware for signs of students threating other students to join. don't join a group unless you no where it leads to. Another thing you have to watch out for peer pressure. The last thing you should watch out for is a leader trying to take over.

2.My favorite sentence was: ' You don't have to worry about how popular You are. We're all equal. we're all part of the same community. I liked this passage because it really shows that now istead of the students worrying on thier social life they'll now worry about school and grades. Also now that they are all equals they will really start to support eachother.
3. My question was: Do you think that the pep rally will get more members for the school or that hardly anyone will join?

2. a short passage that stood out to me was: 'For Ben, what happened the next day was extremely unussual. Instead of his students straggling into class after the bell had rung, it was he who was late.' This passage stood out for me because it seemed preety funny that instead of his student being late it was him who was late.
3. A question i had was, Do you think that the students are taking this too seriously? Or would you have done the same in their place?

1. This book takes place in Gordon high, Palo alto, California
B. Some of the clues the author gave us were: That in the newspaper office there were typewriters in which nowadays we don't use. Another clue was that they had to work with all the cables in the projector because now we just have to click a button and its on the screen. Another clue was that it said film, because now instead of using films we usually use DVDs or we just get it off the Internet. The last clue was that that they used to smoke there and now days if your in high school you'll get kicked out.
3. A sentence that stood out to me was: he was "contagious," they'd say, meaning he was charismatic. this sentence shot up at me because it means that he explained things so well and he made them sound so interesting that other people wanted to hear about it. I also chose this sentence because if i was Ben i would also enjoy talking such enthusiasm. Or if i was the student i would surely enjoy hearing about all the things Ben had to say.
4. A question i had was, if you could have seen the video how would you have felt. would you have felt like Laurie.

Hypnosis driving
I chose this sentence because it's a awfull feeling thinking you'll wake up later but you never will.
I also chose it beacuse if you're asleep and that happened to you, you'll never know why or how you died.
2. I think it isnt fair of the goverments part to put people under hypnosis because you go in thinking you'll problaby pass on everything except the curve or something. Then all of a sudden you're driving and everything seems perfect then all of a sudden you're going down a hill at top speed and you just crash. When you wake up the people from the car department tell you it was all an illuson and you just have to sign these paper but it's like everything its all still a dream.
3. I thought it was like a clue to the man that maybe he still was in the dream. It could also mean that life is but a dream. I though it meant life is but a dream because ussualy everything that happens in the real life seems lile a dream.
